"Therefore, my Beloved Brethren,
be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not vain in the Lord"

1 Corinthians 15:58

     Your Words Have Power!

by Ron and Glenda Pettey

                       August 2010

Out of the mouth, the heart speaks.                       (Matt. 12:34)

Can good and bitter water come from the same spring? (James 3:11)

I am surely preaching to the choir on this matter of words and conversation that come from our own mouths!  I’ve heard three analogies recently that should reawaken us to the value and weight of our spoken words.

First, let me say that God is good.  HE is for us and not against us.  He first loved us!  And He deliberately gave us a free will….to accept or reject His gift of salvation through Jesus Christ, His Son, and ALL the privileges that come with being grafted into His family:  Our inheritance is for the Here and Now as well as for the Here-After!

The Three Analogies:

1.   As you speak, envision that angels are aligned on one side of you and little demons on the other.  What you speak out ACTIVATES one side or the other!  It’s your choice!

2.   As you repented for your sinful words and misdeeds, the Lord effectively put handcuffs on the demonic strongholds and harassments that were taunting you.  Yet now, with your wrong words, those handcuffs are removed and the demons are coming after you, not after anyone you named!

3.   My all-time favorite: You drink the poison and expect the other person to die!

Remember that Jesus showed us by example to speak the truth IN LOVE. He also demonstrated how to ‘be angry and sin not.’  So, as in all areas of our lives, we must choose wisely!

Be quick to repent and quick to forgive. In fact, stand in identification repentance for those who have wronged you!  This puts the handcuffs right back where they belong….. on the enemies’ wrists!

Ron Petty died.  When he came back
from his trip to Heaven where he
visited with Jesus, he came back with an extraordinary gift.  God gave Ron "supernatural" vision to see inside someone's body to discern physical
infirmity, and then God heals
them as He chooses.

Finally, understand that the battle is the Lord’s.  He is fighting for you!  God will never leave you nor forsake you. Pray and stand boldly as Elisha did in 2 Kings 6, to see that there are more for us than against us; to have our spiritual eyes opened!

Focusing on Jesus rather than your problem allows you the peace and rest that is otherwise impossible.  It is only through HIM that we ‘live and move and have our being’ and have the victory over the pressing issues of life.  I plan to address this topic on a deeper level in my next newsletter.

Share your comments and prayer requests with us and we will respond as the Lord leads.  We Praise God for you and the destiny that He is bringing about in each of your lives.

Blessings to all,

Ron and Glenda Pettey
